FITNESS REQUIREMENTS AND TRAINING

The main requirement is a strong mindset and a positive mentality! Broad Peak is a technical peak – this means you must have prior experience of climbing at 8000m as well as a good fitness level. It is demanding 8000m climb, requiring resilience, endurance, and prior high-altitude experience. The technical nature of the mountain means it’s not just about strength, it’s about skill, determination, and the ability to push through extreme conditions.

If you are nervous about your fitness, we provide a training weekend in the Lake District with our professional mountain guides. This will involve learning how to walk with your trekking boots, how to use poles effectively and how to hike efficiently.
