I can’t speak highly enough about Adriana, Gelje and the whole AGA team.  They were fantastic from start to finish.  My trek and climb were amazing and this was in no small part due to their support and organisation.  Last minute changes to the itinerary (at my request!) were dealt with good grace and great humour.  I always felt fully supported and brilliantly managed.  The experience they brought to bear was tremendous and made a real difference day to day.  The team was also great fun to be with and this also made a real difference for me. A brilliant team!! I had an amazing experience with AGA Adventures on my Lobuche East and Island Peak expedition. The trip was very well organised, and the team were incredibly flexible - whether that was accommodating extra rest days or adjusting the itinerary along the way. The accommodation was great throughout (where possible given the location), and I felt genuinely well looked after from start to finish. Even after returning to Kathmandu, they continued to check in and offer support. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another trip with them. I used them for an Everest Basecamp Trek and would 100% recommend. The leaders Adri and Gelje are incredible, record-breaking mountaineers, and their expertise and experience were invaluable, ensuring safety and confidence amongst the group.

The whole expedition was immaculately organised and the guides were amazing. I felt lucky to be able to deal with the altitude without problems, but I suspect that this was more to do with AGAs guidance and advice than anything else. The lodges and lunch spots were excellent, and the welcome and celebration dinners in Kathmandu added to the feeling that we were family more than clients. All of this helped the group to gel and added to the enjoyment. An amazing experience, and I wouldn't use anyone else. Our Everest Base Camp trek with AGA Adventures was truly special. From the very beginning, their support and guidance made us feel completely safe and cared for. Everything was so well organised that we could just focus on enjoying the journey. It felt like we were in the best hands the whole way, and the experience exceeded all expectations. Adriana Brownlee and Gelje Sherpa established AGA Adventures just over 2 years ago having both completed the 14 x 8000m peaks (Adriana being the youngest female). Originally I was due to climb Everest with Adriana back in 2000 - unfortunately Covid changed the plans - and Adriana embarked on her 14 x 8000m journey!
Fast forward 5 years and I got the opportunity to climb an 8000er with my daughter and as a client with her company!! (Note: daughter charged father full price ! 😅).

What an opportunity - Manaslu together! On 25th September 2025 - I summited Manaslu (8,163m) with AGA Adventures – without supplemental oxygen – and it was quite simply one of the most incredible experiences of my life.

From the outset, what sets AGA apart is the combination of world-class mountaineering leadership and a genuinely personal, client-first approach. Led by Adriana Brownlee and Gelje Sherpa, you’re climbing with individuals who are not only at the very top of the sport, but who are fully invested in your journey and success.

This was AGA’s first year running their own Manaslu base camp, and it exceeded expectations in every way. The setup was exceptional – comfortable, incredibly well organised, and with a level of hospitality you wouldn’t expect at 4,800m. The attention to detail was outstanding, from nutrition and recovery to the overall camp environment, which made a huge difference over multiple rotations.

Logistically, everything was seamless. From arrival in Kathmandu through to summit push, every element was carefully planned and executed. Safety was clearly the top priority throughout – something consistently highlighted in other reviews – and I always felt supported, well-prepared, and in expert hands.

What really stands out is the team culture. The guides and support staff are not only highly skilled but genuinely care – it feels far more like a tight-knit team than a commercial expedition. Many reviews describe AGA as “like family,” and that was absolutely my experience too - literally 🤩!!!

Summiting Manaslu without O₂ was a huge personal goal, and AGA created the perfect environment to make that possible – balancing challenge, safety, and support at every stage.

I’ve climbed multiple peaks with AGA Adventures, including Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Lobuche, and now Everest and Lhotse. Every expedition has reinforced the same conclusion: this is an exceptional team. ❤️

What makes this team different I think is the human side. Expedition after expedition, it feels like a family. You build real relationships. The Sherpas, the guides, the team, they become people you trust deeply, and honestly, friends.

One thing that truly sets AGA apart is the strength of their Sherpa team. Their technical skills are world class, but beyond that, their judgment, calm under pressure, and deep respect for the mountain create a level of trust that is essential at altitude.

Gelje is outstanding. His leadership, awareness, and sense of responsibility elevate the entire expedition. You feel safe, supported, and pushed at the right moments.

Adri is also a huge part of what makes AGA special. Beyond her ability to run complex expeditions seamlessly, she is a true inspiration as a woman in mountaineering. Her presence, leadership, and vision genuinely shape the experience.

And Kanchan! She is so professional and genuine. What a team. From the technical terrain of Ama Dablam to Island Peak and Lobuche, and now the scale of Everest and Lhotse, AGA has consistently delivered at the highest standard.
